Nd-Yag QSwitch Laser Treatments

The Q-switch Nd-Yag laser has a wavelength of 535 nm or 1064 nm making it a versatile treatment option to treat are range of conditions including, aging symptoms, vascular lesions, hyper pigmentation and tattoo removal. A 1064 nm Nd-Yag laser is scanned across the dermis layer of the skin removing aging keratin and pigment (including chloasma), brightening skin, shrinking pores and restoring skin laxity. Additionally, it also helps with skin ecchymoses, skin acidity and other blemishes by accelerating the reduction of melanin.

Nd-Yag treatment targets:

  • Redness and mild scarring

  • Acne scar (mild)

  • Uneven complexion

  • Age spots

  • Freckles

  • Dull skin

  • Melasma

  • Nevus of Ota

  • Hemangiomas

  • Tattoo removal

How does the Nd-Yag laser work?

The Q-switched laser produces short pulses that shatters the targeted pigment (tattoo or melanin) in the skin without harming the surrounding tissue, reducing discomfort, side effects and downtime. The smaller pigment particles are then removed via the body's immune system. While a series of treatments are needed to achieve a desired outcome, the results are long-lasting.

How long is the recovery time after treatment?

Recovery after Nd-Yag laser treatment is usually minimal. Depending on the pigment targeted, you may experience mild swelling or redness in the treatment area. However you will still be able to return to normal duties provided you have adequate sun protection.
